    Basketball vs. Hockey Card popularity

I have been wondering lately if Basketball or Hockey cards were more popular. Basketball would seem the more obvious answer b/c the NHL isn't as popular for the most part and struggles financially, but it seems that more hockey fans actually collect vs. the average NBA fan. I think there might actually be more companies that produce hockey cards too. What do you guys think?

it depends on where you are at in the world to which one is more popular, I bet in detroit the red wings are more popular than the pistons, but in chicago the bulls are more popular in chicago than the blackhawks.

I think there's more collectors in hockey but a lot more money in basketball... so pick your poison on which is better.

Here's the problem with hockey ---

I can't see the puck, until it either hits the net for a goal, or hits some object that causes it to be still.

As a result, I don't watch hockey, and don't collect hockey cards (this postseason is an exception b/c of Mighty Ducks and me jumping on bandwagon).

I'd think that there are more basketball collectors.

After all, if a sport isn't followed by the masses, then who's going to collect? Anyone collect something they don't follow?
