Exquisite GOLD boxes numbered to 25

What is your opinion on the Upper Deck Exquisite Gold boxes? If you didn't know, Upper Deck produced a limited edition of their Exquisite product numbered to 25. Each card in the box is numbered 1/1. Here is a <a href="https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=2585675&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.eb ay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D15 0156353903">2006 Exquisite Football GOLD box</a>. These boxes had a $25,000 BIN, but apparently never sold. Here is another <a href="https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=2585675&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.eb ay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D15 0156353903">Exquisite Football GOLD box</a>. So, that is 2 of the 25 box lot. Both at around $4,000.

I really don't know what to think. The 1/1 thing has kind of gotten out of hand. And what would people price each of these singles at? I'm sure they are all stars in the box but I don't even know how someone with the money would find the appeal of that having to pay so much for one box of 1/1s. I mean, how sought after are these boxes really? They aren't even selling.

I agree. I would say this is as close to gambling as I have seen. Let's say you buy this box for $10,000. You could hit it big and get $20,000 in cards or you could hit some duds and not make anything back. If you are a rich collector, no big deal I guess. I would expect some very nice cards out of these boxes, but not worth a new car.

No there should still be 1/1's in regular exquisite. Which in my opinon needs to be considered a true 1/1 thats hard to pull. Instead of paying way to much money to guarantee yourself one.

i think gold boxes are waste of time. and it gives regular box buyers less of a chance to get a 1/1.

I'm not sure what the appeal of these cards would be, particularly at that price.

A 1/1 should be unique in some way, not just short printed.
