Finally!!!
After 3 weeks, 3 printers, and 4 1/2 hours of talking to idiots and liars on the phone, i finally got a printer/scanner that will actually work with vista os!! every printer that i had to return not only advertised on the box that it was vista compatable, but the a-holes i talked to on the phone also assured me they were compatable!! well, thats just BS, lol. i found THOUSANDS of stories on the net about problems with the same all-in-ones working with vista. when i returned the 2nd one yesterday, a guy ran across the parking lot after seeing me walking into the store with mine. he said he returned his last week cause it wouldn't install!! but yet i had morons tell me for 4 1/2 hours that they would work!! their websites even had driver downloads/updates for vista, but they worked as well a Charlie Weis recruiting class!! as many cards as i gotta scan, i should have bought 2, cause im gonna use this one like its Notre Dame's defense (couldn't resist)!!
anyone else absolutely despise vista? this isn't the first problem ive had, just the most recent. xp will be installed as soon as my computer guy gets back from europe!!

its a lexmark 2400....nothing special, not a laser or anything. i dont print much at all, but rather have a 3 in 1 than just buy a scanner. scanner works great!! will scan from 75 DPI up to 19200 DPI, quick and quiet.

Too bad about your problems with Vista & your printer. I love computer magazines and their reviews of Vista were overwhelmingly mehhhh. I'm quite happy with XP and see no reason to spend considerable bucks for Vista.

well, i crashed my pc in march so the new comp i bought had it installed.....didn't have much choice as thats the standard with new stuff these days.
it just sucks that the sole purpose of vista was to make a very rich man even more wealthy....cause i have yet to see a logical reason it was necessary!! like you said andy, xp is a great os!!
