This has to be a joke...

Vince Young was fined $7,500 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in last Sunday's 22-20 loss to Indianapolis.

The NFL fined Young for throwing the ball at Colts defensive back Kelvin Hayden just before halftime and it cost the team 15 yards. Hayden had pushed at Young's head, and the quarterback responded by tossing the ball toward the ground at Hayden's feet.

First TO, now Vince. Does the NFL need the money that badly? I assume they are trying to make a statement in fining high profile players. It may be working but I know the fans have to disagree with the actions the NFL is taking.

Yea, I feel real bad when someone who makes over 10 million a year after endorsements gets fined $7500 for losing his temper. I think some fans may get upset but others will care less. I care less myself. I have to keep calm at my job when people act up or I will not get fined I will get fired.

Actually Hailey, that is pretty screwed up. If you watched the play you'd probably agree. I had actually been flipping the channels and saw it live, the guy hit Vince late, while clearly out of bounds, then started lipping off, and then hit him on his helmet with his hand, so Young just tossed the ball at him. And he gets fined??? I couldn't even believe the penalty was on Young, it was a late hit, and unsportsmanlike, and of course the refs call it on Young (cause it's against the panty wearing, umpire in their back pocket Colts of course)

I had to watch it also and I still find it hard to sympathize with him. I would have been able to keep my cool. Just because the other guy did something to you does not mean you have to respond. Please do not talk about being fair. Life is not fair. If it was my niece with MS would be healthy and able to run. I think the NFL should fine everyone who gets an unsportsmanlike penalty and put the fine in the pension for former players.

    Thanks,
    Davey

nice idea davie, except that it would require some intelligence and compassion on the part of the NFL. i think they should also find the officials for blantently stupid calls, and have them sit out a few games.
