Has anyone ever heard of this through BGS? I have heard of it and was wondering if anyone has done it? And if so any success? LMK Thanks

I guess if you send in your card to BGS and it comes back a 9 with subgrades 9,9,9.5,9.5
Then you can send it back For a price and ask for a "bump". They will look it over and maybe if you are lucky give one of those 9's ahalf a point. Then you have a card that is 9,9.5,9.5,9.5 with the overall grade 9.5. That is a huge difference. I just got back a shipment that had seven cards with the overall grade 9 with the subgrades 9,9,9.5,9.5. To say the least i was pissed. I am planning on sending them in to get the "bump" and I was wondering if anyone here has seen or heard of it.

Sounds like they will do anything for a buck. Something like this could really damage their credibility. Maybe they should just offer a price list with the associated grade you would like.

it is about the money, isn't it?
do steady dealer customers that send in a lot get better grades? i would suspect.

I totally agree w/ elgato. Thats rather annoying. I also see some sellers on eBay that sell TONS of BGS 9.5s and I get suspicious b/c some are numbered as low as 10 and they have 2 both graded 9.5s. I've only gotten one 9.5 back from BGS and over the years I have submitted close to 150-200 cards. Guess I need to send 300 at a time, lol. Maybe thats how they make up their BVs too.

It is weird they say that you CANNOT CHALLENGE THE GRADE no matter what. Then a couple of years ago I heard about this Bump thing. Confussed the hell outta me.As for your one 9.5 that sucks man I have about 60 or so out of about 500 graded. Just got back a Harrison RC9.5,a Gore ultra rc 9.5, and a Aikman topps traded 9.5 (all subs are 9.5) first time that happened. I started this thread to see if anyone else has ever heard of this or done this.
