    USC Pounds Irish!

Looks like USC pounded on Notre Dame 44-24. This makes a strong case for a Ohio State vs USC national Championship.
John David Booty threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns, all to standout wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, as third- ranked Southern California moved a step closer to a possible shot for a national title with a 44-24 pounding of No. 6 Notre Dame.

The Trojans (10-1), who have won four in a row since their only loss at Oregon State October 28, came into the game third in the Bowl Championship Series standings, .008 points behind Michigan. However, that could change when the new rankings are released Sunday.

USC's lone remaining regular season game is next Saturday afternoon on the road against UCLA, and then its up to the voters and ultimately the computers to calculate which team goes to Glendale, Arizona to play Ohio State for the national title on January 8.
Anyone watch the game? I went and saw the James Bond film instead.

I wish I could see that Bond flick, all ready told the wife when I get home for the Holidays we are going.

As for the game, I saw a little. The secondary isn't fast enough to deal with USC's quickness. With Notre Dame signing the top HS QB out of Cali they might attract some faster secondary. I believe that they should have played more Zone. Of course i'm not Charlie Weiss. It also looks like Quinn could use a little more seasoning. Can't remember if he is a senior or not. If he is then he is a second or third round pick and only that because of his coach in college.

ND, like most other mid east colleges, simply can't match the speed of California and Florida teams. That 43 yard td catch by Jarrett serves as case and point. Jarret caught the ball with 4 ND players within 5 yards of him. One of them even hit him but didn't wrap. Jarret then outruns the rest easily for the score

Another thing to point out are the 2 interceptions that ND got in USC territory and got 0 points from.

That's not entirely true. ND had a few good drives but they didn't have confidence in there kicker. Instead of trying 40-45 yard feild goals they went for it on 4th down. Then they turned it over on downs a few times. If you can't get points 90 percent of the time you are in your opponents territory against a top 10 team you are going to lose.

I saw the whole game and LOVED it!!! Dwayne Jarrett is an awesome receiver. I hope that SC gets to do that to Ohio State too!!
