okay maybe I'm stupid
The easiest I have to found to see if someone has posted to one of my threads is to do an advanced search on my own name....am I missing something here?

go to thread tools and you can subscribe to the thread

I also recommend going to Your User CP and update your options. Before you submit a thread look below the text editor and you will see a Thread Subscription pull down. Simply select "Instant Notification". This will make sure you get an e-mail when someone replies. In your User CP you can default this.
