    Who will win the Heisman?

NEW YORK -- Troy Smith booked his trip to the Heisman Trophy ceremony before the invitations went out. Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith is the big favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

    Why wait?

Smith, the heavy favorite to win college football's most prestigious award, was selected as a Heisman finalist Wednesday, along with Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn and Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

    Rest of the story here.

I'm sorry but I thought that the Heismen was for the best player, not the best player who has the better record.

Sure its a team sport, but the Heisman is for the individual. Brady Quinns stats are better. (more yards per game, more total yards, more touchdowns and the same amount of INT's). It just baffles me that people are going to select Smith as the Heisman saying he is the #1 player in college, but those same people say Quinn is going to go ahead of Smith in the draft.

Just seems a little odd to me! Quinn is the better player. He deserves it no doubt.

Statistics.....yeah. Trust me, I despise Ohio State and anyone who plays for them, but Troy Smith is a lock and deserves it. From what you said (statistics, draft predictions), I'm assuming you don't follow college football very closely.

Yea....but Quinn can't make plays with his feet, Troy Smith can. Troy Smith is a more versatile player.
