Week 14: The Week of the Bust

What is it with this week! There were so many teams that needed to win this week to keep their play-off hopes alive or win their division. This is the week of the bust!

There were a few teams that did well:

• San Diego Charges clinched their division and moved one game ahead of the Colts for the #1 sead in the AFC.
• The Cincinnati Bengals won a much needed game to keep their Wild Card hopes alive
• The Baltimore Ravens moved one game closer to clinching the AFC North with their victory over a tough Chiefs team.
• The Jacksonville Jaguars made a statement my humiliating the Colts and almost breaking a single game rushing record with 375 yards. Maurice-Drew Jones also ran for a HUGE kick off return into the end zone. This may be the team to watch!

Now on the the busts of week 14. These teams had huge openings or played in games they should have won.

• New England got shut out for the first time that I can remember. The great Tom Brady was held to 78 yards! You get a feeling the were missing their star rookie running back.
• The New York Jets had an opening with a Patriots loss, but got creamed by a very average Buffalo Bills team. When you give up 2 big plays you can't expect to win. They still remain 2 games behind the Patriots and likely out of the Wild Card picture with Cincy and the Jags moving ahead of them.
• Seattle is very lucky that they play in the worst division in the NFL or their season would likely be in jeopardy. Losing to Arizona is just bad. If the 49ers or the Rams play more consistant Seattle would be in trouble. As it is now they will limp into the play offs.

Honorable Mention: Denver Broncos for removing Jake Plummer and putting in a rookie. Say good buy to your play off hopes!
