That timeout wasted on the challenge for the fumble came back to bite him HARD! They really could've used that timeout at the end. I don't remember the Jackson thing. I was at work for the game, so I might've missed a few plays.

Philip Rivers threw a beautiful pass to Jackson. After 2 reviews he got 1 foot in and the second foot was 50-50% in my opinion. It was definately worth the challenge and the fumble on the interception was simply foolish.

Overall it was the game I expected it to be, just not how I expected it to turn out. I honestly, for some reason, counted out the Patriots. If I know anything, from watching sports, it's never count out the underdog. Tom Brady did not even have a great game(3 INTs), but somehow they find ways to win as a team. I have to admire that about this team, even though I despise the Patriots, you can't disrespect what they do. And that's win when it counts. Hats off.

The reason for the Chargers loss can be summed up in one word..... MARTY!!!! I have said it before and I will say it again.... He is the most overrated coach in the history of the NFL!!!!! He was clearly outcoached (Again) in a playoff game. The guy freezes when it counts and he has no idea how to make adjustments during a game!!!! Sorry Chargers fans but your team will never make the Super Bowl with him as your head coach!!!

The defense is what let the Chargers dopwn but your right, that end of half TD gave the Pats momentum for the second half. In my opinion, the turning point in the game was the Eeic Parker muffed punt return. That hurt the Chargers in a big way because the outcome was a FG that cut the lead to one point.
I can say one thing though, the guy that everyone and their brother was saying would need to play well did so. Rivers played sound football and managed the game well.
Mike, I do agree with you 100% that the Chargers could have played "Martyball" for a majority of the game. LT averaged just under 6 yards a carry in the game and was cutting through the Pats defense like swiss cheese. If they stayed that path, they would have had opportunities to pass when the Pats least expected it.
Overalll, it was a good game and a well deserved win for the Pats. I said that if the game was going to be close, it would be in the Pats favor but a blow out would have been at the hands of the Chargers.
P.S. The Chargers need to part ways with Drayton Florence. His moronic actions in the game and inability to be consistant in coverage hurt the defense big time. Give Cromartie the starting nod and let him be the counterpart to Jammer.
GO CHARGERS IN '07!!!

Marty doesn't call the plays buddy nor does he play on the field. His coordinators call the plays and his players take the field. Marty did NOT lose the game, the CHARGERS did (morteover, the defense). They had the game well in hand for 57 minutes until they got conservative on defense.Say what you want but the CHARGERS lost the game, not Marty.

I do believe that the coaching staff lost the game and Marty needs to be replaced. That was the worst coaching I have seen in years in a play-off game. The Patriots should send Marty and his coordinators a thank you card for talking Tomlinson out of the game and using Rivers more in the second half.
Tomlinson was just as mad as I was!

I heard what he was pissed about too. Apparently the Pats players were doing the Lights Out dance on the field after the game and LT was upset that they were disrespecting his hallmark celebration on their field. I have lost all respect for them idiots in New England. I hope Peyton torches them for 4000 yards and 4 TD's enroute to a 42-7 crushing.
Classless Patriots.. how patriotic.

Give me a break! So it's ok for the Chargers to do a little dance after every play but the Pats can't after WINNING THE GAME? Come on. Talk about a double standard. Merriman started doing a dance on Sunday after just hitting Brady and not even sacking him!
Just sour grapes.
