The hobby helps me to maintain balance between all my other responsibilities. What I mean is I go 'all the way' with work and that just isn't particularly pragmatic anymore given my age and life experience.
So it was capturing youthful exuberance and enjoyable busywork that entered me into this hobby some years ago. I can share it with my sons and impart upon them countless valuable math and other life lessons. It is the community of trading which is also particularly valuable in the hobby as I plan on growing old with ambitions of imaginitive card businesses and many great friends to share with and to support.

I started collecting on a trip to Connecticut visiting a college. Finished the tour and decided to stop by the store for some stuff, and thought "Why not. Let's get some hockey cards." So six years later, I'm still doing it, although there are times where I don't have as much fun as I used to, I still refuse to take a time-out from it.

I started collecting when I was in Elementary School...There was a small corner store on the block I lived on and when my mom would get paid from her nursing job she would give my sisters and me some money..So of course I had to go to this store and I would spend some of the money on packs of baseball or football cards...

I sold all of my baseball and fottball cards to a neighbor of mine where I used to live about 10 years ago because I needed the money and was getting bored with the hobby...There was a couple years after that I ddint buy any cards then I decided to start collecting again and started buying packs again and now I have been collecting ever since...Thanks Ed
I only trade by Beckett price guide, not eBay comp or SV, TV..I also do not collect any Panini or Donruss Baseball products..

I've been collecting since July 2005. My dad collected Nascar cards and then my little sister and mom started collecting. So I thought why not.. I will too. It's one of my favorite things to do now.
