The Day the Music Died again
Need to vent as feeling a bit sentimental at this time of just finding out about Brad.
Two years ago, a friend of mine won two front row tickets to the Boston concert. He knew how much I loved these guys and beings that his wife is a country fan and not wanting to go,
, he called me at 7 am the morning he won them on the radio and said we were roadtripping to Boston. I couldnt believe it as these guys were the cats pajamas so to speak as I grew up. (Unreal a headbanger like me would rather have seen Boston, Aisa or Journey over anyone but call me a softy)
We waited for 45 minutes in the front row, not knowing what to expect from this band as we heard good reviews and terrible reviews but that is no matter. This was front row to one of the greatest bands to ever play music. Why? They did their thing and that was it.
This night was no different. They surprised everyone by sneaking out in roadie unis and turning around to blow eveyrone away. This was one of the greatest concerts I had ever been too. Truely the band hit my heart again as it had many times before, but I felt a part of it as they reached out and shook your hands, talked to us after the show and just were all out class this night.
March 9 2007, Brad Delp, the lead singer for Boston, was found dead in his home, still undetermined why yet but they are doing a toxicology test to find out. No matter what he died from, the Music has died again. This man was phenominal in his lyrics and his style. I will forever love this band, and will have the sad feeling in my heart of shock and dismay as one of my legendary artists has passed on.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The family of Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston, said his death was a suicide.
"He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers," the family said in a statement relayed by police Wednesday. "He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."
Delp, 55, died Friday at his Atkinson home. Fiancee Pamela Sullivan found him.
Toxicology tests by the state medical examiner's office showed that Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, said Lt. William Baldwin. Delp also left two notes taped to a door and letters to his family and Sullivan.
Baldwin said police do not know the contents of the letters.
The family's statement said Sullivan, Delp's children and their mother, Delp's ex-wife Micki Delp, were grateful for the sympathy they had received.
Brad Delp joined Boston in the mid-1970s and sang two of its biggest hits, "More than a Feeling" and "Long Time."
Delp had planned to marry Sullivan this summer during a break in a tour with Boston. A lifelong Beatles fan, Delp also played with a tribute band, Beatle Juice.
Beatle Juice performed a benefit last year to help build a new public library in Atkinson, a small town of about 6,000 residents on the Massachusetts border.
The family said last week it planned a private funeral followed by a public memorial to be scheduled later.

I am torn as I am happy to find out that it was not drugs, but am saddened it was suicide. A 55 year old man figured it was easier to committ suicide than handle any more pressures he was seeing. It is truely a fact from what I see that he gave and gave as he was like no other when you talked to him. I pray he is at peace and hope he will be forgiven for taking his own life.

Suicide is selfish, Sure it cures your problems but look what it does to those you leave behind.
