I'm not so much anit-Bush as I am anti-war. The cost of war isn't justified by the end means.

When has Iran threatened anybody with nuclear weapons?

And yes, a war DONE RIGHT could possibly be over quickly... but when has this administration done anything right?

    doesnt matter really.

most countries have nukes, or weapons of mess destruction....

the only thing i dont like about american politics, is that they seem to try to bully every nation that is small around... going into iran is the worst thing to do right now.. ditto with north korea...

dont think for a second, that the international community would allow the U.S to invade another country...

besides... it might be the Brits that declare war on Iran, before anything the U.S does.

Bush is a moron. He's proved that throughout his entire presidency. No need to discuss that.

Bush scored better on verbal and other parts of the SATs than 85% of Americans. I love it when people call him an idiot, especially hollywood stars that dropped out of high school.

If the British sailors were in Iranian waters, they have every right to capture them. If not, then let them go. I don't see a reason to go to war over this.

and if they were not? Also, should we start grabbing every Iranian that flows into Iraqi waters? It is a simple diplomatic courtesy to NOT kidnap military and show them on TV.

Do you know what Iran is doing is Against the Geneva Conventions? They are not aloud to film soldiers and show them on TV. It is against international law to use soldiers as propaganda tools. Where is the outcry from all the human rights groups? Since it is NOT the US doing the violating, they don't care.

Most countries have not stated that they will wipe other countries off the map. Most countries do NOT sponsor terrorism. Iran does.

Will you be saying the same thing if a nuke goes off in New York and it is traced to Iran? Who do you think that killed our Marines in Lebanon and are killing our soldiers today in Iraq? Iran.

Bush is in a lose-lose situation. If he goes into Iraq, he will be attacked as too aggressive and evil. If he doesn't and a nuke goes of in New York, the same people will say he didn't act. Some people just complain no matter what. If Bush cured cancer some will complain that he took too long and spent too much money.

dont think for a second, that the international community would allow the U.S to invade another country...

What would they do? Let me tell you. It is the same thing the UN has done for 40 years; nothing.

besides... it might be the Brits that declare war on Iran, before anything the U.S does.

The Brits will not declare war with Iran. They better do something because the Iranians have been known to hold people for years. Maybe we need Regan back.

I also find it funny that Palestine captured two Israel soldiers a year ago that kicked of a war. Israel stopped and the soldiers are still prisoners. talk about the world press hating Jews. It sickens me that people have no problem with Jews being prisoners, but let Brits get captured and the news is all attentive.

You have to have them to threaten. Have you read any of their President's speeches?

"We will wipe Israel off the map," sound familiar?

What troubles me is these fanatics have shown that they have no problem sacrificing other Muslims to kill Jews and Americans. Suicide bombings are the norm. Does anyone NOT think that Iran would sacrifice millions to be the country that took out Israel?

The fact that Bush scored 1206 on his SAT's really proves nothing. There are countless examples of book smart people who don't have any common sense. Good test scores don't necessarily translate into sound judgements or rational decisions. His checkered past in the business world would attest to that.

The British sailors were captured by the para military Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which in itself operates outside the Iranian military. There is little doubt that they function with the approval of the government but as an independent entity, they fulfill a different role for the Iranian government and as such probably don't feel the need to aquiesce to British demands.

As far as the Geneva Conventions, the very labeling of Iraqis and Afghanis captured as "enemy combatants" allows for the suspension of these rights by the U.S. I would hardly think the U.S. or Britain could claim the high road on that point with regard to the treatment of the British sailors considering the use of secret prisons and questionable methods of interrogation by these two countries. Semantics on either side can allow for most anything.

Our support of Israel is an issue to the Arabs. And it will continue to be one for generations to come.

State sponsored terrorism can be found in any number of countries whether it be against it's own people or those of neighboring countries.
Southeast Asian countries such as Cambodia and Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Uganda, even Israel itself have all been classified as terrorist nations at one time or another. The fact that Bush states Iraq, Iran and North Korea belong to the Axis of Evil really serves no purpose other than being good PR for this administration. If he was truly concerned about dictators and threats to the U.S there are any number of other countries beginning with the former Soviet Union that he should be concerned about.

Concerning nuclear weapons, rogue states such as Iran may pose a threat, but no more so than our supposed allies India and Pakistan both of whom have not signed the Non-proliferation Treaty. The U.S. continues to support these countries even though there is a very real threat of conflict in that region. Israel, also, has seen no need to eneter into the NPT, N. Korea has withdrawn and Russia, one of the founding members of the "nuclear" club has been shown to be supplying technology and material to countries which pose a threat to the U.S.

It is very difficult for the U.S. to justify it's hardlined stance with Iran, when it seems to be doing the complete opposite with its dealings with countries such as India and Pakistan.
