Why no respect for Buffalo???
How come they play in New York but you always here about the Jets and Giants?
Nobody ever mentions them or talks about them even reporters from NY.
Its all Jets and Giants talk.
You can always find a jacket of the Giants and Jets in a store but you can never find one of the Bills.
What makes it even worse is that the Bills actually play in a stadium in the state of New York while the Jets/Giants share a stadium in New Jersey.
Shouldn't they at least mention the Bills a little?Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

Bills play upstate, not in New York City. Big difference in team popularity. It's like comparing the Rangers to the Islanders across the state of NY. Outside of LI, you won't find any Isles things.

That doesn't have anything to do with it. thenyrkid hit the nail on the head. Buffalo is upstate, the Meadowlands is just a short distance from NYC. They're literally on top of each other.

I think they still should deserve some respect. They are the best NY football team this year.

Errr....
Its better to have gone to the Super Bowl and to have lost then to have never played.
Now losing 4 in a run is something different but its still better then let's say the Bengals or Cardinals.
Plus it wasn't the Bills fault the AFC sucked for about 20 years until the Broncos won a Super Bowl so its not like they were the only ones losing.

the question asked was why there is no respect for Buffalo, and thus I answered as such
Naturally, it's better to lose a Super Bowl than to NOT go to the Super Bowl
After all, every NFL season, there's only 1 winner, and everyone else is a loser
but, the Bills choked big time when they went to the big game - 4x in a row

Yeah but stores and the media are going to ignore them because of them losing the Super Bowl over 10 years ago?
That doesn't make any sense.
I can get a whole ton of Giants and Jets junk around here but NOBODY sells anything of Buffalo except for the Bledsoe & Moulds Jerseys.
So the only appeal that teams from Buffalo can reach is to upper state NY? I would kind of expect more from the NFL which is suppose to be so great and all that.
Even in hockey they focus on the Rangers, Islanders, and Devils more than the Sabres (who I don't care for) but it doesn't make sense to talk about teams from New Jersey OVER a team from their own state.

ok, point taken
here's another possibility
outside of those incredible years by Jim Kelly, Thomas and Reed
what's stood out for the Bills franchise?

Bruce Smith, Darryl Talley, Kent Hull, and unfortunately for them Scott Norwood.
The Bills have history and have great fans that support them in upstate NY. There isn't anyone crying foul up there because that stadium is sold out for every game whether 80 degrees or -10 degrees. The team gets coverage into Ontario since it's so close to the border and they probably get a lot of support from the boarding New England states as well. Not every damn person that lives in this area is a Patriots fan.
