Poll: Congress' Approval Same As President Bush
Pretty sad that I have to go to a British newspaper to find this out. When President Bush's numbers are at record levels, I have to hear about it weekly. So much for, "Americans want a change in direction!" Down 5 points this month alone! That is what happens when you threaten to cut off the troops.
People think the Democratic-led Congress is doing just as dreary a job as President Bush, following four months of bitter political standoffs that have seen little progress on Iraq and a host of domestic issues.
The survey found only 35 percent approve of how Congress is handling its job, down 5 percentage points in a month. That gives lawmakers the same bleak approval rating as Bush, who has been mired at about that level since last fall, including his dip to a record low for the AP-Ipsos poll of 32 percent last January.

Well the people voted the Dems in too do what (GET THE TROOPS OUT). OF course none of the DEM's have had the KAHUNA's to even go that route. So why should the public who voted them in be happy.

I don't think that is true. The people did not vote for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. They voted against the Republicans more than they voted for the Democrats. There is not a single poll that shows Americans want an immediate pull out of Iraq or failure in Iraq.

If you looked at all the platforms the DEMOCRATS ran on and gained control of the House (WE WILL GET OUR TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ WHEN I AM ELECTED). If you ever listened to talk radio DEM after DEM after DEM pledged they would get the troops out of ASAP when elected. Of course what have they done but pass a SOFT BILL (Whatever you call it) so Bush can veto it as they do not have the VOTES to pass it with 2/3 majority.
p.s. Care to address it and state your facts. As if I need to I can try to dig up all the sound audio of the DEM's PROMISES TO DO SO.

Bush's rating is not 4 points higher.
A new Gallup Poll finds continued low levels of public support for both Congress and President George W. Bush. Twenty-nine percent of Americans approve of Congress, down slightly from last month's reading (33%) and this year's high point of 37%, while Bush's approval rating is holding steady at 33%.
