My dad passed away when i was 2. so every year since i can remember i send my Mom a rather generic, dollar store Thank you card on fathers day. because, in reality, she has been both. She told me a couple of years ago that those are her favorite cards of the year from me. Have to admit that they are my favorite ones to give. gotta find the one that says the most while saying the least.
