    Secret Video in North Korea

I have heard many people complain that "George Bush is a dictator" and that "we are losing our rights in America." Well, take a look at this video and you may appreciate America more.

Your video has nothing to do with the erosion of rights in this country. You can't compare Communism to Democracy. The fact that some people in the world have to live under harsh dictatorships doesn't lessen the fact that in many respects Americans are being asked to compromise their freedoms in the name of security and fear of terrorism. Now whether someone chooses to label Bush a dictator is more hyperbole than fact, but the point is being made as to how this administrations runs.

I'd rather Bush's administration be doing what they're doing than giving terrorist free reign. I sure don't feel my freedoms have been trodded on. Some people who plot to do harm to this country should be held in check and sometimes...there will be innocent people who get put in check. Better safe than sorry! If Bush did nothing and there was a terrorist attack...what would you say then. Bush haters and the Bush hating media will always find something to put down the president regardless of what he does or doesn't do. I'm in the military and I'm proud of serving under the President and support his decisions...I can't say I was all that proud serving under Clinton, but always supported him as commander in chief of the military. Bush is not the smartest man, he's not perfect, but he's got cahonas and he stands up for what he feels is right. When the left disagrees (which seems to be almost always), they attack him. I don't agree with him on immigration, but I still support him. If anyone should be attacked right now for eroding the rights and sovereinty of the country, it's the dems and turn coat republicans who don't stand up for their constituents. Thank goodness some dems saw the light and the immigration (AMNESTY) bill is DEAD! Sorry for the rant, but it's late and I needed to blow off some stress. Bush considered a dictator...give me a break! He didn't compromise anyone's rights...the terrorist did...and until we defeat them...we won't ever be safe unless we take the necessary steps to root them out.

Excellent words! People consistently state that their freedoms are being taken away, but they never say how. Basically, they hear it over and over and just say, "Bush is taking our freedoms away."

This usually from people who feel they have the right to drive with a cell phone attached to their head and the constitution is 1,000 pages long. Again, I have been to 16 countries and I have yet to find a more free country. Even in Australia, they just enacted a form of prohibition against the Aborigine communities. They banned alcohol and started to crack down with 1,000s of policeman. That would not happen in America!

Again, please post your personal experiences on how YOUR rights and freedoms have been taken away.

I wish you would learn to read. Where in my post did I state or imply anything of a personal nature? I stated "Americans are being asked to compromise their freedoms in the name of security and fear of terrorism." That is a fact. There are many things we once took for granted which are not allowed today. Walking into a game with a cooler in hand, boarding a plane with luggage, entering government buildings, etc. All of these things require searches or electronic scans, etc. today. So don't tell me things haven't changed.

Warrantless wiretaps, requesting phone records, bank accounts information, etc. Those are things that occur. And the old argument of "if you're not doing anything wrong, you don't have to worry" doesn't hold water. It's an infringement on the privacy of individuals. Left unchecked, it is a danger to our country.

Actually, I was being more of a smartass than anything with my statement, but Mike mentioned in Austrailia they banned alcohol and cracked down with police for the Aborigine community and said it would never happen in American when, in fact, it already has happened.

My post was not aimed at you...just the general consensus of the media. if it was aimed at you would have quoted ya in my post. I just wanted to rant about politics for once...it's kind of fun and refreshing to get stuff off my mind. I do agree with you that they have to be careful about who and how they compromise freedoms, but there is no way they can totally protect the nation without compromising someone's rights. Most of us will never really be affected...unless searches and scans before going in to buildings, waiting longer to board a safe airline, etc really bothers someone. i for one have no prob with it, especiially if i know it is definitely making us safer. You never said Bush was a dictator...but i'm sure some people feel he acts like one. I was ranting about the statement "George Bush is a dictator." I don't believe people can really believe that and I don't hear it in public. My rant was not aimed at anyone personally...just a rant on the subject that I kind of veered off of a little.
