Sounds like everyone had a Safe & Happy Fourth of July!!!
A side story following our 4th of July celebration. My wife and I went to Gettysburg, PA for the re-enactment of the battle of Gettysburg. For those that do not know, the 3 day battles (July 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 1863) at Gettysburg were the bloodiest/deadliest battles ever fought on American soil.
This is a true story that we experienced first hand! During one of the Park Ranger Guided tours that we were on, one family from Mobile, AL was asking a ton of questions about everything the guide was explaining. They were polite about it, but it got to a very annoying point with them asking SOMETHING every time the guide spoke. At one point, the father semi-loudly told his son and two daughters that the reason the battles ended on July 3rd was so that both "teams" could get together and celebrate on July 4th!!! At this point nearly everyone in the group started laughing out loud, but the Park Ranger Guide quickly explained that it was only coincidental that the battle ended July 3rd and had nothing to do with an Independence Day celebration. He went on to explain that there was NO ONE left to enjoy any type of celebration due to the thousands of dead and wounded soliders all over the place with many in the town enduring surgery and whatever to help them recover.
It was just one of those moments when your shake your head and say DUH! lol
I must applaud the Park Guide, he did a GR8 job of recovering after the father's comments and helping him to feel better at his blunder. We actually had the same guide the next day on a different tour and we enjoyed a few laughs togehther about what happend the day before.
