We were robbed!
Yesterday and today we had an estate sale at my papaw's house. It's less than a block up the street from my grandma and grandpa's house. Today we walked down to their house after the sale was over. We were in and out of the house some. My grandma shut the front door, but didn't lock it.
All of us were out back on the porch. You can see some of the kitchen from the porch if you're in the right spot. Cody was like "There's someone in the house!" He was leaning over a bit to look out the back door. Mom didn't really see him, but did a bit. She heard the front door shut, and the big door was like half open. dad went upstairs to look. No one there.
Mom's and grandma's purses were on the counter. Mom's billfold was gone, and grandma's money was gone. Dad and grandpa went to look for the guy. Mom called the police. Cody desribed what she could see of the guy. People said they didn't see anyone.
The policeman said someone called and said a suspicious suv type thing left the area with an ohio license plate. That's when I realized something... Earlier this morning, I walked up to gma and gpa's. I saw the car!!! It was parked across the street, a house down. When grandma was shuting the front door, ash saw it park in the same spot. sooo.... it all pretty much makes sence now why no one saw the guy running/going away.
About 15-20 minutes later, we noticed grandpa's wallet was gone too.
Cody is terrified. I feel so bad for her. She's barely saying anything, just sitting/laying on the couch about to cry. She's been like that since we got home. :(
I hope they find the stupid guy.

Oh man! I hope they catch the person and hang him by his %^$$%#^&!!!!! I can't stand people who steal. Thankfully no one was hurt...money never means more than family. I hope all works out in the end for your family. The person will more likely try again and will eventually get caught...either way he'll have to answer for his wrong doings in the end.

I hate to hear that anyone was robbed. As stewart20rulz mentioned, just glad no one was hurt. A confrontation can lead to events that could be far worse than just being robbed. Glad to hear you all have each other as Heaven Forbid something would have happened. From all the posts on the boards it is evident your family is very close and that something you can't replace.
p.s. Will keep Cody in my prayers as it can be a terrifying experience when someone can just waltz in your house and your unaware. Hopefully, with the family support everything will be okay soon as it all takes time.

I am sorry to hear about what happened...It is good nobody was hurt..
I agree with Don when he said a confrontation can lead to events that could be far worse than just being robbed..
A few years ago a friend of mine used to own a second hand store , I would run the store for him after I got home from work and one day I was there by myself and these two guys pulled up in front of the store and when they were getting out of the car one of the neighbors was outside and saw one of the guys who got out of the car putting a gun in the back of his jeans..This neighbor went and called the police, next thing I know these two guys in street clothes walked into the store and within a couple minutes they had the guy with the gun cornered with their guns drawn..It turned out these two guys in street clothes were the police chief and an undercover cop..
The whole time this was going on I was hiding behind the counter praying there were no shots fired..When the police chief and the undercover cop was taking the guy with the gun out of the store in handcuffs I went and looked out the front door of the store and there were cops across the street with their guns drawn and pointing right at the other guy who was sitting in his car...The friend of mine who owned the store always kept a gun in the store safe but there was no way I wouldve even tried to get the safe open to get the gun..
Thanks EdI only trade by Beckett price guide, not eBay comp or SV, TV..I also do not collect any Panini or Donruss Baseball products..

Bummer to hear about what happened to y`all Shayne! I`m glad no one was hurt though. You never can tell what might happen in situations like that! Sounds like a close call for you also Ed! Things can be replaced, people can`t! Glad no one was hurt in either situation!!

No update on getting the perps captures, but we are 95% sure who was behind it and why.
You see we are going through a major battle with the other side of my wifes family. Her mom is the last child left then you have 4 grandkids from mom's deseased sister. They are fighting her on everything. Mom's the exec of the will.
Dakota remebers seeing one of there ex wifes van parked on the other street that can see us in the back yard. Because this happened so fast of us getting home and timed just right we figured they were the eyes of when to go. See if the estate sale money would of been stolen, mom would of had to pay for it out of their pocket. Luckely they didn't get that money, which was right next to their pocket books but was in tote bags covered up alittle bit.
Of course right now we can't prove it but we are working on it.
