I didnt read the article but this is how I play pocket Aces.
You have to play it slow... Most beginners will jump to it and put a lot of chips in.
The Thing is 1 pair is the worst hand you can get there are so much hands out there to get that arent hard to get either.
So.... If you get pocket Aces I would wait for another ace to pop up or just fold it.

You gotta watch who you're playing with.....if you're playing shorthanded against an aggressive player you raise pre-flop and try to get them to committ more of their chips to the pot....if you're playing with a conservative player, someone who doesn't get in very many hands, play it slow and try to trap them. If it's early in a tournament setting and you're trying to survive to the next round or day two whatever the case may be, I would beg aggressively to try and build a big chip count so I'll have a some chips to fall back on if the cards turn cold later in the round. It depends a lot on who you're playing with and the situation.

Matt,
Read the article because it explains why you want to play them the opposite of what you stated.

I disagree completley. Pre-flop, you have to raise a decent amount, to weed out people with mediocre hands. The last thing you want is a 2-6 staying in the hand b/c you didn't raise at all, and beating you with a straight on the river. THEN, depending on what hit on the flop, you play them slow, and try to trap your opponent and get some chips from him.
And why in the world would you fold Aces, just b/c you didn't catch anything else? Do you realize how many poker hands are won on just a pair? Thats crazy. So you're saying if the board reads J-Q-4-7-2 with no flush draw, you're going to fold b/c you only have top pair? Seems rediculous to me. I never fold Aces, unless I know the other guy has me beat, which you can usually determine pretty easily depending on how many chips he's throwing in.
