    Something I wrote...

Well, I like to write poems from time to time. If some of you don't know this about me, you do now! Anyways, I recently wrote one that has gotten different meanings from everyone that has read it...only a few have read it before this...and one got a good chuckle from it as they thought it was about them. I like to think of it as a clever play on words, but then again I know what I wrote about. Let's see if you know...here it is (don't hurt yourself reading it ):

    Hello Stranger
    Years with change,
    And thinking rearranged,
Like cutting so sharply with a blade,
And now you look without no shade,
Feeling as though there is no danger,
May I just say hello stranger.

Let me know what you think of it and what you think I was writing about. I'm curious to see what others say about it and what they think the poem is about. I will reveal what it is about in a day or two. That way it gives everyone that wants to respond a chance to. Thanks for your time and letting me be able to share this.

I think that it is about finding yourself all over again, that maybe you had lost your way and have been reconnected to yourself.

Very nice writing and thanks for sharing it with us.

    Mike,
Not what I was writing about, but I like what you think it is about. Just goes to show that one piece of writing can have a different meaning to different people. Thanks!

Only one so far? I think I am going to wait for another day or so before I reveal what I was writing about to see if anyone else wants to take a shot at this. I'm curious to know what you think of it.

    Thanks for your time!

Well, Mike, since your the only one that wanted to share what you thought my poem was about, I guess I am going to tell you (and anyone else who has been reading this without posting) what my story behind this poem is. Here I go: Since I have been out of high school I have been doing my best to get rid of my clean cut image that I had in school. I let my beard grow in, and I rarely ever shave it to the point of being clean cut. I do shave it and trim it, but it is very rare right now to see me clean cut. The other day though I decided I would shave and be clean cut again, and like most I look completely different clean cut. So, this poem is just about me looking and talking to myself in the mirror. I guess to a point, Mike, you were right about it. Some key words to consider (as I did say it was a clever play on words): blade as in razor blade...shade as in a five o' clock shadow...and maybe even the title (which is also used in the end of the poem) Hello Stranger. I don't know about you, but when you don't see a friend for a long time don't you just want to go up to them when you do see them again and just jokingly say something like "Why, hello there stanger!".

Thanks, Mike, for sharing your thoughts on this. I just wish more would've taken part in it before I shared the story. Oh well.

Take care and have a great day!

Nice poem! I wasn't sure what it was about. I'm terrible at figuring out the meaning of poems. In my english class, I was always wrong. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Shayne. That is OK. I just wanted to post it to see what others thought it was about...right or wrong. It's just nice to see what others think about it.
