    Is Marbury this stupid?

NEW YORK - New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury defended Michael Vick, calling dogfighting a sport and comparing it to hunting. Marbury spoke Monday about the federal dogfighting conspiracy charges against Vick while promoting his basketball shoe in Albany, N.Y.

"I think it's tough," Marbury said, according to Albany TV station Capital News 9. "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors."
On Monday, Vick said through a lawyer that he will plead guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and conspiracy to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. He also faces possible prosecution in Virginia.
"I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down," Marbury said. "I think he's one of the superb athletes, and he's a good human being. I just think that he fell into a bad situation."

Marbury took a step back the day after that statement. So I take it the Knicks told him to shut up. He did state the media took his statement out of context! guessing everyone was told to get off the Vick ship before it sank and took anyone else with it!!!

    Jared,
I agree you can get upset at this statement but let me just mention one thing as you can not be sure how Marbury is arguing this. As of late there been quite a few hunters giving the rest of the good hunters a black eye. Example if you got to the Eastern Ky and a few other places around the nation there are placed where you can drive out and feed the deer (nature in general). Those basically become pets as they become used to humans and are used to hand feeding. Then when some whacko comes in and shoot them it just horrible and gives good hunters a bad rep.

p.s. I think the latest was in Utah or Nevada where a Big Stag was just shot and scalped for his antlers and the remains were left right in the neighborhood for everyone to see. I have to say when you can shoot a Stag, Elk, Deer, whatever in your front yard it pretty close to having a pet as there is no challenge.

Yes there are a few morons out there that ruin the sport, the main reason i hunt is the challenge it's always a thrill, if it was as easy as stepping out in my back yard i probably wouldn't have an interest in hunting.
