I liked it better previous years...

Instead of confidence points, each game was given 100 points. Depending on how many people picked a team would determine the point value for that game.

So lets say Penn State was playing USC. Obiously almost everyone would be taking USC so the point spread would be like :

    PSU (93.7) vs USC (6.3)

So if you picked USC and they won, you'd get 6.3 points. If you picked the dog and they won, you'd get the big chunk of points (which in this case would be 93.7 points for picking PSU).

It made you really hunt out some extreme upset picks instead of taking the stronger team all the time that confidence point picks usually end up.

    question for everyone:

according to the rules of ESPN Bowl Mania:

"All remaining bowl selections will lock at kick-off of Hawaii Bowl scheduled December 25, 2003 at 8:00 pm. Your picks for remaining bowls must be submitted, received and recorded by Sponsor's computer by scheduled locktime. Selections submitted after the deadlines are considered invalid. Sponsor's computer is the official time keeping device for this game...."

Does this mean we will still be able to pick teams after dec 25th?

or is 8 pm dec 25th the DEADLINE for all bowl games?
