The first Saw was good, but 2 and 3 were awful and I don't expect 4 to be any better. I'll wait for the DVD.

what didn't you like about 2 and 3? granted, there have only been a few sequals that were as good or better than the originals....but i personally didn't find the last 2 bad at all.....found 2 very entertaining, with lots of twists/turns, lots of drama, and as much gore as they could have.....3 was a bit slow, but a great plot line to tie the 3 together.....they performed brain surgery with a power drill, and blew a chicks head off with 6 shotguns!!

The first one was pretty good thriller overall and had a GREAT surprise ending. The last 2 were just poorly written horror movies with annoying charecters.

im not much of a fan of newer horror movies at all.....prefer the stuff of the 70s and 80s....but the saw series is about the best new stuff i have seen.....the hostel's aren't that great, the hills have eyes movies were avg at best....just not much good new horror out there.

anything newer you like more than the saw stuff you care to recommend??

I don't watch much current horror. I only watched Saw 2 and 3 because I really enjoyed the first one. The Decent is probably the best horror movie I've seen lately. Here are some good dramas for you to check out though (from 06/07): Pan's Labyrinth, The Lookout, Zodiac, Little Children, The Dead Girl, The Prestige

.they performed brain surgery with a power drill,

can I be the first to say that part was way to much?

I was sick one weekend about 2 months ago and was at blocckbuster and saw "saw 2" for sale for $3.99 so i bought it, watched it, loved it and went back to rent saw 1 and saw 3 I was in bed watching saw 3 on my laptop and when I saw the part where they cut his head open I just about threw up, I had to turn it off and could barely fall asleep, I resumed the movie the next morning and fast forwarded trough that part!!!
