as far as running up scores, i will ALWAYS have the mind set (especially in professional sports) that it is YOUR JOB to stop the other team from scoring....why does the blame always go on the team for running it up, instead of the team that gives up the points....i could have cared less if it was 35 - 0 or 52 - 7......they are that good of a team, and ill never complain about a team running up a score in a pro game....come on guys!! these are professionals!! this is the only time you hear criticism for OVER EXCELLING....and it seems its only football....never see a basketball team up 30 dribble out for 24 seconds and throw the ball out of bounds, lol

its one teams job to score, one teams job to stop them....just cause someone isn't doing their job up to par doesn't mean the other team shouldn't do theirs!!

If it was the Patriots just trying to run out the clock with 5 or 6 minutes left in the game and the opposing team couldn't stop the run I would agree with you. But when you're up by 40+ points with like 6 minutes left in the game and you have your starters in the game while running play action passes taking shots in the end zone, it's running up the score.

isn't the goal of football to score points?? why should they stop TRYING to score?? its the other teams responsibility to STOP THEM FROM SCORING.....sure its running up the score, but why is that a negative towards the team running it up?? shouldn't the bulk of the blame go on the team who couldn't stop them all day??

John, I just think it shows no class, no need to try to embarrass anyone, and I hate the Skins... I just dont agree with, even it was my team doing it I wouldnt like it, just how I would call it or play if I was calling the shots, I think they are gaining reasons for people to try to hurt them, but I know one has to score and one has to stop them, they are professionals so they should act like it and play with class...just my opinion, but Brady goes down and this team will suffer

Every sport has it's unwritten rules and for football running up the score is one of them.

Exactly!!. I thought it was crappy when Culpepper went for it on 4th down with under a minute left and scored against Miami when the game was already done. Yes you go out to win, but when it's near the end of the game and it's well out of reach, you don't set out to embarrass the other team.

i dont know a single player that will tell you they have a problem with running up the score....EVERYONE will tell ya its their job to stop them....fans/coaches might have a different opinion....but you wont hear that from players.

running up the score is an unwritten rule?? come on

the chargers threw the ball around a bit late in the game.....the saints added a VERY late TD while up 21+ (TD pass to colston)

or is it just the pats that everyone has a problem with??

San Diego, really? They only had 3 pass attempts in the entire second half of the game.
