Thanksgiving is coming.....
Hi everyone,
We all have busy lives and sometimes take our loved one's for granted. Please take time this month to let your loved one's know how much they mean to them. ( Letting them know throughout the year is good too!)
Some of you know my story. The reason this holiday means so much to me is that my son should have been 2 years old this year. ( His due date was the 26th of November.) My wife was 21 weeks pregnant when we lost him.
I may never have gotten to meet him, but he changed my life in many positive ways. I was one of those " I'll get to it later" kind of people. I learned that later may never come.
I hope this was not too "heavy".
Have a great Thanksgiving,
Steve

Hoser: Sorry to hear about your son. I'll keep in my prayers. Great advice about your loved ones.We all should let them know how we feel about them all year round.
This Thanksgiving is especially important for me. I have a lot more to be grateful for. I was diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year. & went through radiation & chemo,& the surgery & am still going through the chemo-post surgery. my latest ct-scans have showed that im cancer free. Im back to work. Have a great wife of 28 years , who helps with some of the care required. Have great friends who helped by letting me stay with them post surgery. & GREAT FRIENDS here on the site. i feel truly blessed every year, but more this year due to health issues. I know its early, but i hope everyone here at SCF has a very very happy thanksgiving.

I am glad to hear that you are doing well. Sometimes it takes serious issues to occur in our lives to help us appreciate what we have.

I totally agree. Sometimes I find myself hating life (temporarily) but then I find myself appreciating what I do have. Sometimes I think my life is rough but then I'm sure there's a bunch of people who have it worse than me and would gladly trade places with me. So basically, I try to be thankful as much as I can, and not just on Thanksgiving day. Thanks for sharing guys!

Steve,
Good post and I think as you definitely become older you appreciate your time on earth more. As we all know as youngster's we never wanted to listen to our parents or grandparents tell us various things. When they are gone it amazing how much we wish we had spent more time.
Just try to live everyday that you can be happy with yourself that you did everything that you could. I know i could try to do that with the wife more no doubt. As you can never give too much love (LOL).
p.s. Leo take care of yourself bud.
