Is this when you put the disc in the hard drive. Or did you boot it up and let it go????

Need a little more info on your problem..

Can you log onto Windows in normal mode?
Can you log into Windows in Safe mode?
Do you have a factory restore disk?

It could be a number of problems from what you're describing. Your BIOS Boot Configuration might be set to access your A: first.

It could also be that a floppy disk is in the A: and it's trying to boot from it. (Because of boot priority.

If you're able to log into Windows Safe Mode, your Hard Drive should be ok.

Does it say this after windows has started? Or is it on a black screen?

I can log in on both normal and safe mode, but a message pops up that sayd new hardware found, then it says searching for it, and it says it can't find it and the floppy disk drive makes a noise but nothing is in there, it's a lank screen after I close the little window....

You may have a bad Floppy Drive. Insert a disk in the floppy drive, then click Start>Run> Type in A:, see if anything comes up. Other than that you may have plugged something up and it's trying to find the software for it. Either way it's no a big problem, just annoying!

It's not hard at all. You open the computer (4-8 screws on back/sides of computer case), unplug the IDE cable and power cable from the floppy drive, unscrew floppy drive(4 screws or could be held in by tabs). Then reverse the process! Simple! If you need any help PM me, I'd be glad to help.

Be sure your grounded also though. If you go in and not you could fry your motherboard, if that happens might as well get a new comp then.
