well there's 2 computers in my house.What good would downloading firefox do on another computer for the infected computer?

If you can download firefox on the good computer, you can install it on the infected computer and then use that browser to download hijack this. Or you can just d/l hijack this to a flash drive and transfer that over to your other computer.
