I know I'd loose money. But I'm not looking to quit the hobby anytime soon.

That depends to be honest with you. If you are in it for collecting you probably payed more then you normally would for some. So I would say lose money most likely.

I'd take a loss. Too many stupid buys or 'gotta' haves. D'oh!

In retrospect, I suppose you could look at it like you're just getting the money from your sales. I mean, the money you paid for the cards is already long gone, so really if you want to be optimistic you could just look at it like you're gaining money. But if you want to look at it from a financial net gain/loss standpoint, then I would think most people would lose out in the long run.

But there are always some variables like if a player becomes great or plays well and his cards skyrocket, or if he gets into a hall of fame or something like that.

As for me, I think I would be in the black. Not too much of a loss and not too much of a gain if I were to sell. I haven't taken too many high dollar risks yet so maybe that has something to do with it.
