    My poor laptop!

Shayne and I both bought a laptop back in August. Shayne's has been perfect..mine hasnt. First I couldnt get signed on. And then my screen started goin crazy. It would start blinking and then go completely black. One morning I couldnt even get anything to come up on the screen. So we went it to Acer. It was a very long two weeks. I finally got it back and it was fine. Two days later it started doing the same thing again. I sent it back to Acer. I just got it back today. As soon as I turned it on it started doing the exact same thing!!! And now a thing is coming up saying Windows has blocked start up programs. Down by the time all I have is my battery, volume, and my thing to connect to internet. I saw that some new programs were installed so I went to see what. I now have the K-Lite Codec Pack. From reading the info file I have concluded that K-Lite is some kind of video/mp3 thing? Theres some other stuff on here also that I havent installed and have no idea what they are or what they're for.

This is making me VERY mad. I've sent it to Acer twice and they have not fixed it. On the paper they sent back with it today it says

Unit has onboard and external video. Disabled screensaver andset display settings to "never"

THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH VIDEO. I dont even use my camera thing on here...ITS THE SCREEN. Arrrgh. I guess I'll have dad call Acer again and send it back..and be another 2 weeks without it. Fun. They should just send me a new one!

sorry to hear about your computer. do you have recovery discs? you might have a reset button on the bottom somwhere. if you do you could press it then use the recovery discs. I WOULDNT RECCOMEND YOU DOING THIS UNTIL YOU TALK To SOME ONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT USEING THE RESET BUTTON. MAYBE THEY CAN WALK YOU THROUGH IT OR DO IT FOR YOU. i have never had to do this so i can't help a lot but my Toshiba has one. or maybe you could return it to the company.Good Luck

Yeah, I dont think I have a reset button. lol But when I couldnt get signed onto my screen dad completely redid everything..really hated that because I lost all my pictures and homework. We tried taking it back to Circuit City to get a new one but they wouldnt take it because they said they could only do it within two weeks of buying it.

This time I turned it on and my screen wouldnt come on at all until I gave it a few taps. I just realized that one of the programs that Windows is blocking is my antivirus..I cant even find it in my programs so I dont know if its just blocked or if Acer took it off...?? But either way I think I'll have to go another two weeks without it. Maybe I should stuff myself in the box and watch Acer fix it? lol

I've had 2 Dells and they were messed up in less than 9 months and sold each for parts for $200. Now I have a MacBook and love it. Didn't have to do anything and the stuff were all installed. Hope you fix your PC, though; Windows suck.

Stupid laptop. I'm glad mine has been great! But I'm sorry for your's.. They should just send you a new one. Two problems came after you had it less than two months.. Obviously something is wrong with the thing. You've sent it to them twice and it's still not fixed. They need some better repair people or something.

One thing that was installed on it was MSN messanger. We don't use that so we're not sure why it was on there. Weird. But hopefully you can get it fixed, get a new one, or something! You seem soo lonely without it! I can tell by the way you look at mine! LOL

Dad called today and we're sending it back AGAIN. But since we sold the house today dad is gonna go buy himself one, but give it to me and then he'll keep mine. I have the best daddy ever! :)
