Is someone trying to scam me?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=011

I won this auction, shoud be $5.00 in total.

    Now here's the invoice:

    Allen Iverson 2006/07 Topps Turkey Red #TRR-AI 37/50 (320183535499) 1 US $0.99 US $0.99

Shipping and handling via US Postal Service First Class Mail: US $4.00
Combined Shipping Discount -US $ 0.00
    Shipping insurance:(required) US $3.00
Seller discounts (-) or charges (+):
    Add
    Seller Total: US $7.99
I will use a gift certificate, gift card, or coupon.
    Questions about the total?

I think they added insurance, trying to get me to pay more. Anyways I sent them a message a few minutes ago inquiring about this before I make any payment. Is this seller trying to pull a fast one on me?

    I wouldn't pay $3 for insurance on a $0.99 card.....it may just be a mistake.

I hear ya. But more importantly, insurance wasn't required, and if it was he states it's $1.50 for it. Now in the invoice it says it's required, and at $3.00. I hope it's a mistake and they contact me back.

    hey Rob

It does say that the insurance is required, maybe he should have posted that insurance is optional but he didn't . So i think he feels that you agreed to pay for the Insurance once you made your bid.

I alway's stay away from these kind of auctions even if it is a card i need.

Actually looking at the Auction , i wouldn't pay it as he states on his auction that it is $1.50 insurance and that it is optional.

Don't pay it and i would contact Ebay(not like they will do anything about it) but it is worth a shot.

I thought I misread something there :). Yep, it's optional at 1.50 and not required at 3.00 as my invoice says. Before I contact ebay I'll wait for about 1 day to see if he responds to my message, hopefully it was an honest mistake. However I still think they are trying to pull a fast on me because I have low feedback, and because the card went for only 0.99. I don't know for sure but we'll see.

    Thanks for your input fellas.

EDIT: Wow this was a fast reply, it appears it was an honest mistake.

u r correct, i have it set up with automation, you can deduct the ins, you have that option, when Item was listed, the ins was under the old system before the postal rates wnt up, Thanks Sarge

Any potential scammers better beware, we have a great backing here at SCF!!!!!!!!
