Avoiding Devin Hester like the Plague???
I wanted to get some other people thoughts on how they feel about teams avoiding kicking to Devin Hester and kicking it out of bounds instead? I am not sure it was 2 or 3 times I saw the Giants do this yesterday. Ultimately, I know they won and Hester did not have any big returns, but is giving the Bears the ball at the 40 many time smart coaching? I am not even a Bears fan, but I can't help but get exited when I see Hester break on since, I have a few Topps Chrome Auto rookies for Devin Hester! With cards, I have found that I am more a fan of all sports teams since how they do effect the value of my collection. For me watching Sunday football is like watching the stock market go up and down! So much fun!

I have been watching football religiously since 1989 when I was 7 years old, and I never would have agreed with this strategy...until Devin Hester arrived on the scene. Deion Sanders had a lot of game changing returns, but he's got nothing on Hester.
Sometimes a player is so talented that it forces you to reconsider previous strategies, and Hester is definitely that guy. I've seen enough of Hester over the last couple years to know that you are playing with fire if you kick it anywhere near this guy. I'm not even joking, but with the relative ineptitude of the Bears offense, I'd put every kickoff out of bounds and give them the ball at the 40. I seriously believe the Bears best chance to score on any given possession is when Hester is returning the kick...

Well after last game as long as the Bears can't move the ball on offense...every team will do the same and kick out of bounds. It is just like walking Barry Bonds the majority of the time when he comes to bat. Not exciting for watchers of the game but definitely using strategy to play the game. I just want to see some excitement, so I say KICK IT TO HESTER!

I guess it just depends on how good your special teams are. The Raiders told the press that they planned on kicking it to Hester a week before the game and completely shut him down after kicking to him every time. Sadly though, that inept Bears offense managed to beat them.
