the ruth b/c ellsbury could stink next year and ruth will always be good...so the value of a elsbury could drop when the ruth will probably not drop...go w/ the ruth!!!!!

It's a gift, not an item to bank on. I'd go with the Ellsbury. Personally, as a kid, I'd be more excited about getting an autographed baseball rather than a card with a piece of plastic in it.

oh whoops im sorry i thought it was for you not your son!!!!! i would still go with "the piece of plastic" b/c ruth is one of the greatest players ever and I would want something that is only 1/1 and only 1 in the world rather than some guy who had a breakout year who could be a bum and everyone forgets about him!!!!!
