NBC turns down "Thank our Troops" ad?
I'm floored that NBC turned down money to allow an ad thanking our troops to play on their network. Here is the ad they turned down.
<object width="600" height="500"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8SQztt3ZC6U&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8SQztt3ZC6U&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="600" height="500"></embed></object>
Now mind you they allowed Al Gore to promote is Global Warming stuff and I'm sure they allowed Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911 ad to play a few years back. Here is a call to boycott NBC.

That is just sad and bad business. I don't care that they(NBC) gave a ton of hours to Gore, what I do think is Newt is right that NBC Fat Cats are so elitist it's sickening. While they should and can dog President Bush it is in bad taste to not all fellow Americans to thank our troops. I will not watch the Football game tonight in protest, will you?

the really irritating thing is no news outlets pick something like this up. Can you imagine what would happen if someone turned down an ad for something like a Hilary ad or something about global warming.

CNN and Fox News both played this ad. Just to throw out there that there are some that are playing this ad and deserve credit.

Only because it would have hurt their bottom line and people spoke up.
News of NBC's initial rejection caused an angry reaction on the Internet. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, appearing on the Fox News Channel on Friday, called for a boycott of NBC.
Thanks to the internet and other outspoken people NBC didn't get away with this. Glad they were held accountable!
