I agree. Sex offenders get less time then that. I am an animal lover, but when you get sentenced for more time for killing animals than drunk driver get for killing people or sex offenders get for molesting children something is wrong.

I think our country is in a sad state when you can get as much or at least close to the same amount of prison time for killing some dogs as you would for killing a human. I could rant for days, but I think that sums up how I feel about it all.
I've found in the past couple of years I have come to hate almost all dogs...for the most part for nothing that they do or have done, but because of the way the idiots in our society treat them like their children....or in a lot of cases, better than they treat their children.

Its about time one of these sports stars get sent behind bars for their actions. I hope Vick never gets a chance to return to the NFL. If the league allows him to return I hope the teams are smart enough to distant themselves from him. I have the feeling (By the smug smile on his face when he was going to court when this first started) that he was just gonna get a slap on the wrist like so many other sport stars have gotten. Well I hope he likes his cell and he has got what he deserves. Now maybe VA can tack on a few more years!! He wasnt just a part of the dog fighting ring HE WAS THE MONEY MAN THAT MADE THE RING RUN!!!! Now maybe the pro sports leagues should start putting in some on/off field conduct for the players and have a little stiffer penalties for getting in trouble with the law. Think about how many players have been in trouble for fights (mostly in strip clubs lol), guns, drugs, ect. what do they get??!! A couple weeks vacation until there 3 - 5 time. Good riddens VICK!!!!

Thanks for this comment. I 100% agree. I despised Vick upon hearing what he did, but I've had some time to think about the situation up until now. I feel that the punishment does not fit the crime. A year would have been sufficient. I might be taking this thread overboard with my next comment...but I do think racism had a part in this.

If Roger Goodell is still the NFL commissioner when Vick gets out and there is no reason to believe he won't be the hard nosed commish will hand out a suspension just like he did with the other trouble makers.
