I started a collecting blog, just to put some thoughts out.

Here is the entry for this week.... just as a quick background, my wife and I are in the process of adopting

I'm going to try and have a new entry added every so often, weekly would be nice.

I'm going to share thoughts about my collection, things I see, possible trends, etc.

If all goes well, by this time next week, I'll be a dad for the 1st time. I so excited and scared at the same time about this. What is he/she going to look like, what color is the har/eyes going to be, is it going to Noah Scott or Natalie Rose (planned names at this point).

Something that I want to be able to share with my kid(s) is this hobby. I see some posts on Beckett or SCF on occasion where a dad goes to a card shop with there son or daughter and I find myself wanting to do that also. I don't even care if it's sports, non-sports. This is something that I want to share with my kids.

Why you may ask? Well, I find it as a way to bond with your kids, but I actually see this as a way I can help to teach my son or daughter. Teach them about respect, how to care for something. I know that this is only a piece of card, but it's something that I find can help in parenting. I also find that cards can help kids with basic math. As a kid, I was always fascinated with how an ERA was calculated, or how many goals would a player have without his best season.

I know that I'm probably a good 3 years from even thinking about this happening, but I can't wait.
