JaMarcus Russell Bombs
If you are an Oakland Raiders fan there isn’t too much to get excited about this year or going into next year. The Raiders gave away Randy Moss to the Patriots for almost nothing and their number one draft pick JaMarcus Russell (and #1 overall) bombed in his first game with some [...]

That has to be one of the most retarded articles I've ever seen. Writing off a rookie QB after playing 1 game against one of the toughest defenses in the NFL is lame.

Truth hurts? The guy has had 15 weeks to prepare and 8 years of high school/college ball. He also had playing time in two previous games. So, what you are saying is he plays like a girl and needs a few years more preparation? Want me to list of rookie players that made an immediate impact after week 1?
Not sure how you got "writing off" anyone. Next time read the article with an open mind instead crying about the article.
Unless JaMarcus Russell can show some significant improvement, the next few years don’t look to good If you are a Raiders fan.
Is that not realistic? How is that writing him off after one game?

Toughest defenses?
Jags are ranked #13 in total defense. Ranked #24 against the pass. If that is one of the toughest defenses, then Russell is much worst off than I thought. :)

It is hard to make a judgement on one game this late in the year when so many of the players have mailed in thier commitment.
btw I am a Raider Hater because I bleed Black -N- Gold.

Where did you get those busted stats Mike? Jags are 11th in total defense, 5th against the run and 17th against the pass. They are also 5th in INT and 7th in sacks. Don't make them out to be a horrible defense that they're not. They bring a ton of pressure against QB's and force a lot of turnovers as a defense. Stop trying to skew the stats and stop being a San Diego Chargers homer..lol. Also you might want to edit that Russell only had 7 years of high school/college experience because he came out as a Junior. Go ahead and give me your rundown of rookie QB's that made an impact because they're going to be semi-bogus. Roethlisberger....yeah that was an already great team.

Well, the stats updated since I made this post. That is where I got them.
Roethlisberger....yeah that was an already great team.
So, anyone could have jumped in there? That's an excuse.
How about Peyton Manning?
26 TDs, 3,700+ yards 1998
I guess that is semi bogus? Manning was drafted as the first overall pick just like Russell. Big difference!
Dan Marino?
1983 played 11 games 20 TDs and 6 INTs.
Roethlisberger? There are plenty of rookie QBs that had good first starts and were not the #1 pick of the draft. Maybe if he wasn't a selfish rookie that held out he would have had more time this year to be ready. I would say most rookies in their first NFL game do not throw 3 INTs.
I never said his career was over. If you read the article you would see that. He is a disappointment so far and I predict the Raiders are in trouble next year. They gave up Randy Moss for absolutely nothing. Great GM work!

russell is bogus, it was about not showing up for camp and seeing how much money he could get. that crap makes me dislike the greedy rookies.

At least we know he can hit wide open receivers with no one within 20 yards of them. :)

Mike you speak again without knowing the whole story. Moss had to either be released or traded because he made it known that he would not play another down with the Oakland Raiders. They felt like they would try to get something out of at least before they flat out released him and at the time of the draft the Patriots were the only takers. Who the Raiders selected with the draft pick was a total waste but that's besides the point. There's no excuse with Roethlisberger as that Steelers team was very good which made it very easy for Roethlisberger to look good. It's not hard when you have a great supporting cast. Marino I'll give you because they had no running game to speak of, but c'mon it's Dan fricken Marino. Great stat line on Manning's rookie season by the way. I think you forgot to add the 28 interceptions that went with those numbers as well as their record.
