Retail
Is there anything wrong with having the retail base set of a product like 07-08 Fleer Ultra and other products?

Theres nothing wrong with it at all.. Some people prefer HOBBY only ( including myself ) yes its more expensive but everyone cant afford the hobby version. I think RETAIL is a awesome idea for those who cant afford the hobby boxes.. And to be honest.. Very rare ( in my case ) due you pull something to even pay for the box.. lol.. Anyway just my 2 cents :)

Nothing wrong with a retail set. I'm building a set of 06-07 Bowman DP & S from retail myself. Might have to buy a hobby box to complete the set soon since it's only about 30$
I don't like the Fleer Ultra just because I don't like the looks of those cards. But whatever floats your boat.
Honestly, I think Retail is not that much cheaper than Hobby. Those blaster boxes add up and the chances of a hit seems to be much lower. I've spent 50$ on retail this month already. =|
I think those who buy retail don't live near a nice hobby shop and buy it for the convinence and to satisfy the wax breaking urge.

i buy from both a shop and retail stores (i saw cards in a grocery store the other day.. thought that was odd haha).
is ultra the only set where the cards actually have a different look?
i personally think the regular ultra look prettier/cooler, but i don't know if there is any difference in value, i don't think beckett priced the retail edition.
