It's official. ESPN said he resigned this morning. It also said he plans to return next season after management and himself work out some issues.

Yeah they were saying on the espn radio that him and management are going through some real tough times and he is very unhappy with the overall situation of things. That and his family is also pushing for him to take a break to so he is going to take some time off

When Spurrier got that massive coaching contract, one of the first things he said was that he planned to work from 8 to 5.

He didn't want to be like the Jon Grudens of the NFL, who would come in to work at 2 am in the wee hours, and not leave until 10 pm the next day.

Spurrier felt that he didn't need to work like a mad man in order to be successful. He planned on saving a little time for some golfing

Now, about 3-4 years later, after getting pounded by the Jon Grudens of the NFL, Spurrier quit like the coward that he is.

One thing Spurrier never did: he never could adjust his game plan during the game. When he played Dallas this year, he felt they were going to blitz the hell out of the rookie QB....so all week, he prepared the Redskins for that.

Then, Dallas didn't blitzed, and Spurrier never made the adjustment.

Spurrier is like Rick Pitino of the NBA -- a successful college coach who was so arrogant he'd thought he would rule the pro league

Reality knocked both Pitino and Spurrier on their asses

Pitino and Spurrier were both LOSERS in the NBA and NFL, TOTAL COMPLETE LOSERS.

of course, they did make about $10M+ per year, so in life, they were winners
