    BGS grading question

    I just acquired this card
03 Bowman Chrome Uncirculated Red Refractor Autograph #223 Jerome McDougle #ED 02/10

For christmas i got 2 free grading vouchers. I was wondering if it would be worth it to send to get graded? and if so open it or send as is?

IMO, I don't think it would be worth grading, as there is no real premium on graded uncirculated cards. If there was, everyone would pop them open and get them graded, because in esense they are encased to maintain there "gem" status. So in theory, if all ten of these surfaced, and all ten were graded........then should all grade out GEM. Then there is no premiun on them, because all ten are on a level playing field again. Again, thats just my opinion. Check Beckett.com for how to send cards in for grading. I havn't graded a card in nearly 4 years, but back then they had to be out of any hard cases, but that could have changed.
