NO if you cross the line of scrimmage you are no longer a QB but a runner and take your chances like everyone else! I'd love to see a RB do something like that!!!! Protect them in the pocket but come on when is enough ...enough????

I don't like the rule because it puts the defenders in a bad position. How many times have you seen a QB start to slide just as the defender is about to nail him only to have him accidentally hit the QB in the head drawing a penalty.

I remember seeing a few times a QB fake a slide and when the defender let up move past him.

To often nowadays the Defender lets up a little bit because he doesn't want to be given a penalty or fined. Time for the QB to Man up and the NFL to stop being known as the No Fun League.

no joke...the quarterback was just another player back in the day...its nice to see jay cutler go head first and take the hits like a man...dont see that anymore at all
