2006 or 2007?
I was thinking of picking up some Bowman Chrome Football - I like the Bowman brand and really like the Chrome technology. I am trying to decide between 2006 and 2007 - they are roughly the same price - say $6 per box difference. Should I shoot for 2006 because of the rookie class, or stick with the current release?
One thing I like about 2007 is that there are fewer rookies which gives me a better chance at building the set. 2006 has 110 rookies, and with only 1 rookie card per pack, that's a challenge to build it. I'm looking for a shot at a decent auto or two (and RC parallels), but also the ability to build the base and rookie set. So I think Bowman Chrome offers most of those at a reasonable price per box.
I'd welcome any thoughts. I would also welcome other recommendations, but keep the price in mind. I will probably buy 3 to 4 boxes. So 3 boxes at $60 = $180. If you're going to recommend a $90 product, then I can only pick up 2 boxes, so keep that in mind, and also the fact that I'd like to build a set as well as try for some nice autos. I was looking at Contenders, but I've seen nothing but rough breaks on here, so I'm abandoning that plan.
Thanks!
Josh

It might be worth considering Topps Chrome from either of those years. BV's are a bit higher.

I haven't ripped but one pack of Bowman Chrome, didn't like it but now Topps Chrome is impressive. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm liking the 2006 Topps Chrome checklist. Maybe I'll give that a shot instead.
