Anyone see Cloverfield??
All I can say is.... wow! It's simply a rollercoaster ride in a movie theatre. (in case you haven't heard, there are reports of motion sickness, people throwing up, and even a guy who had a seizure) I went with my wife, who's only words after it was done was...."I hate you" (she got dizzy, and was a little freaked out...she's a wuss) Another person I overheard walking out of the theatre said it was like they just watched someone play "call of duty 4" on the big screen...and it kind was like that, with the fast paced action, and the Army scenes were super intense.
I guess if you get sick easily, it's best to wait until it comes out on DVD to take away a lot of the movement on such a big scale.
But if you enjoy this kind of action/horror flick, you MUST see it on the big screen, especially in digital format if you can.
I won't go into detail or give away any spoilers, but this movie was produced by J.J. Abrams (also did the TV series Lost) so it has little hidden things throughout the flick, and since the movie has been out, new trailers on the net, and even websites have popped up, giving folks even more of a backstory then what was given in the actual movie. (like how the monster got to NY, what company the main charactor got a job with in Japan...etc)
I think now with it's huge success, they will most likely come up with a sequal.
It's a fun ride, and I encourage people to see this flick. And if you do, just pay attention during the last scene, in the background, and also sit through the credits and wait until the end (I didn't, but I heard about it afterwards)

Yes...wonderful movie...I too left during the credits and I'm kicking myself after hearing what was at the end...
Anyhow, they are talking about the sequel being the same movie, but from a different point of view...

Interesting discussion.. JJ is good for making those hidden easter eggs in the plot. I do know that his main thing for this movie was to have an American Godzilla like creature

Yeah, there is a lot of background marketing, and sub plots, I wish I could discuss all of them, but I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet.

Yeah I definitely want to see it. Maybe on Friday I'll go out to the biggest movie screen in Oregon and check it out! :)
