4 Boxes Donruss Elite Extra - Nice Hits - Some For Trade

I've tried to stay away from this product because I'm generally a Topps and Bowman faithful. I have to admit that I thought it was good for the hobby when Donruss exited baseball in 2005. However, after watching so many breaks on SCF, I discovered that I like this product - I like the players, the variety, the parallels, and the general card design. So, I gave it a shot with 4 boxes (and 4 packs from the local shop because I couldn't wait - only hit a die cut parallel from the 4 packs, but not bad since they are 1 per box!).

Some of these are for trade - as always it depends on what you need and what you're offering. I think overall I did very well - I beat the odds on every box. Each box produced 4 Auto hits plus 1 GU hit (5 hits instead of the 4 advertised). I also lucked out with 1 of those GU being an Auto Parallel.

So here goes with the scans.....

Starting with the Base Autos - Nice hit on the LaPorta. And I'll tell you what, between Bowman Draft, Bowman Sterling, and DEEE, if Madison Bumgarner ever makes it big I'm all set! Oh, and that goes for Tim Alderson too - are the Giants stacked with good prospect pitching or what? Sorry for the digression - one last note on these autos - got a basketball player in there - don't follow college hoops too closely - any good?
6 Base Autos

Next we have the Turn of the Century Autos - pretty nice selection - all baseball - and the highly limited Luke Hochevar is very very nice. I sure hope he pans out as well because I have a nice Bowman Chrome Blue Auto #/150 of him too! :-) Also another very limited auto in there of Vineyard. Here are the scans....
5 Turn of the Century Autos

Now for the good stuff - the super limited autos. I think I did pretty well in this department. The Frank Broyles coach auto is numbered 10/25 - not sure how well these have been received in the market, but I assume this card has nice value to an Arkansas fan. And the prize of the break I guess would have to be the #1/5 Cozart. I'm not sure what kind of prospect he is, but I have to assume that anything #1/5 is pretty good - especially for only cracking 4 boxes. Am I correct - can I equate this to a Bowman Chrome Red Refractor?
5 Parallel Autos - Aspirations, Status, and School Colors

I have 5 regular parallels because of the extra one I picked up from my 4 pack break. Remember my comment about Tim Alderson? #1/25 isn't too bad either. I am very pleased with the parallels from this break.
5 Base Parallels - Aspirations and Status

As I mentioned above, I pulled 1 GU from each box, in addition to the 4 Auto hits. 1 of these 4 GU was an Auto Parallel #/100 which was pretty good. I've read good things about Moskos, so we'll see how he fares with the Pirates.
4 Throwback Threads with One Auto Parallel

I even like the insert sets, and again I beat the odds with 14 total (12 expected). I can't complain. None of them were parallels except 1 of the college ties, which happened to be LaPorta (Gold #/500 versus the normal #/1500) - pretty nice. I also picked up an extra Bill Walton not pictured. The other highlights would be the Detwiler and Moskos School Colors.

So again, I'd be willing to trade (or sell) some of these depending on the situation. Just let me know what you're interested in. I also may be interested in completing the insert sets if you want to make offers my way. Finally, will have plenty of extra base if anybody needs help completing their set.

Bbonds - I don't see where you have any Autos for trade. I can't trade autos for RCs. Where is you list of autos for trade, or is your PC for trade?

Norball - I don't see anything I need for the Hochevar. I'll probably just hang onto this unless I get a good offer, especially since it's very low numbered.

Rick - Nice job on the hot box! I see you also pulled the same Hochevar. I'll drop you a PM about the Jackson and Brackman.

J Smeltz - The only thing I see on your list that I need is the Maybin Bowman Auto - If you can find something else from me maybe we can get there, but I'm guessing that's a stretch.

mcguirem13 - I'll take a look through your bucket and see what I can find. Do you have any of my Bowman Sterling needs (see other thread). I'll PM you with what I find.

gin and juice - Rick has first shot at the Jackson, but I'll take a look if we can't work something out.
