SCF Super Bowl Squares Contest (Two Versions)
Hi everyone!
With BGray's permission, but without the NFL's, and the recommendation and thought process of SingleDaddyof2, we are holding the 1st Annual (sorta like an oxymoron) SCF Super Bowl Squares Contest. Not sure what that is, well it's quite simple.
A grid of 10x10 is created and participants choose squares within the grid. Once the grid is filled, each row and column is assigned a number between 0-9. When the Super Bowl is played, a winner is declared at the end of each quarter. For instance, let's say the score is the NFC team 17 and the AFC team 13 at the end of the 1st quarter. Then if you square is the NFC's 7 column and the AFC's 3 column, you win for that quarter. And we do this for all four quarters. See how simple that is.
How do I participate?
That's a very good question Forrest. Once again, it's quite simple. You have two versions to choose from. One is the Low Fee and the other is the High Rollers. To participate in either one, you need to send a PM to enigma_shadow with the squares you would like. When viewing the grid, you will see a letter designation for a comlun and a number designation for a row. All you need to send in the PM is this. Make the subject either Low Fee or High Rollers. Just include the squares you wish to select by typing C-4, F-8, and so forth. There's a maximum of four squares per member. I will go by the order of PMs in order to determine who gets what square and will update the grid as quickly as possible. I will not be participating so that I can run it. SingleDaddyof2 has four spots in each reserved if he wants them as he suggested this contest.
Is there a fee?
Yes Rainman, there is a fee. To enter the Low Fee Version, it will be 25 cc per entry. To enter the High Rollers Version, it will be 100 cc per entry. When I receive your PM, I will let you know if your entry is accepted, if you need to select new squares, and instruct you to transfer cc over to me. Please do not transfer cc before getting the go-ahead from me. Oh, and you must have the cc aailable when I respond or your picks are null and void and you will move to the back of the line. For instance, if you want to pick four squares in the Low Fee Version, but only have 92cc and state you will be picking up the 8cc soon, I will decline your entire entry. And you have only one time to enter each version. What that means is you cannot buy two squares and return a week later to get two more. This is to allow more people the opportunity to get in on this.
What's the prize payout?
Patience is a virtue, Brother Beavis. It's very simple. Each quarter of the Super Bowl will be worth 1/4 of the total pool. If the Low Fee Version sells out, there will be 2,500cc to split among the winners. Each quarter will be worth 625cc. If the High Rollers Version sells out, there will be 10,000cc to split among the winners. Each quarter will be worth 2,500cc. And yes, I get nothing but the satisfaction of making the great winners happy by transferring hugh cc back to them. JUST ADDED: If the game goes into overtime, then the payout will be 1/5 of the pool instead of 1/4 with the final 1/5 being the final score just to add more intrigue.
What if the all the squares aren't selected?
Well young Cartman, it's quite simple. Then it's a smaller payout for each quarter, but here's the catch. If a quarter ends without a winner, that prize is carried over (like the Skins game in golf) to the next quarter. Also, where the random numbers will be selected immediately after a grid is full, that will not be the case here obviously. I will however select the numbers before kickoff of the Super Bowl. Once the numbers are selected, the contest is officially closed to any more participants.
If you have any questions, please post them here so I can keep my PM box open. Winners will be paid within 48 hours of the end of the Super Bowl, basically as my work schedule allows me to access the comp.
Good luck to everyone...
It has been your pleasure!!!
