man I am diggin this...some of the changes are just gonna be tough because SCF was pretty much the same and comfortable for a long time, people react to change different but I'm happy to see things rolling in a new direction, please don't remove the old trade manager, LOL

I have heard the complaint about turning SCF into a MySpace/Face book and from the initial look at this thread I can see where you are coming from.
Let me ask this. Has the forums really changed? If you come here to make trades everything essential stays the same. Does it hurt to have some groups where vintage collectors can identify themselves to other vintage collectors? Or for people looking for Ladainian Tomlinson fans to find other LT fans to have discussions with?
Does it hurt to have your own photobucket in your profile?
Overall, if a member really does nothing to their profile it will be the same. No one will be forced to identify with a group. No one will be forced to use the member gallery. So, everything will be the same for people that do not wish to make changes to their profile. The forums will remain intact.
I will also not, that these upgrades are easily shut off. If I ever do an upgrade that really impacts members negatively I will turn them off or remove them.
I appreciate the feedback! I ask that you just give it a try and then prove feedback again. I have let members vote in the past on keeping features or not.

To post on this thread I have to sign in again ? What's up with that ?
One of, and significantly, the biggest draws is that this is a "FREE" website. I'd hate to see it go the way of most websites when they get a big enough membership they start charging for anything and everything they can. Not saying it will happen here but it seems to be pretty typical, $$$$$ corrupts.

I just hope that when this site becomes worth millions of dollars, due to the traffic of all it's members, you keep the same philosophy and don't sell out like Pierre did.
YEAH, the real world operates on a whole different level. I'm an idealist
