    SPA Football hype?

I have only been back into collecting for a little less then a year now and I have a question. Why is SPA so hyped? Here is my reason for asking. National Treasures football came out the week before SPA and has RC patch autos on card just like SPA, but they are numbered out of 99. Yet, when I look online at sales it seems that the NT is going for the same if not less then the same rookie in the SPA. Here is an example, right now, at this moment there is a John Beck National Trasures 4 color jumbo patch auto #'d 99 that is at $76, now the SPA beck is 4 colors #'d to 725 and it's at $96. Why? I just don't get it. There are 725 of those cards in SPA, and only 99 in NT. BOTH are 4 colors, BOTH are on card autos, yet the SPA is selling higher? Please, someone explain this to me.

    Yea

I have noticed the same thing.... i guess you are just paying for the name like you pay more for nike's than wal-mart brand shoes...more people are involved in trading and collecting the SPA than others. i dunno... just what i think may be the reason

SPA has more people trying to do the set than national treasures. It has always been popular ever since it came out. And box wise is way more affordable.

No one tries to collect a UC set, but SPA they do, which indeed leads to more interest in SPA.

SPA is more established and Upper Deck products have always done better than Donruss in the open market with the exception of Contenders being big competition. Like others have mentioned, more people are in a position to do the SPA sets as they are more affordable to the average collector. Ironically though the SPA cards are harder to get due to the number of people that are trying to get the cards.

Even tho i think Donruss makes a better product nowadays.

    its all supply and demand.
