    1996-97 metal precious metal

I've always wondered what was the difference in 96-97 metal precious metal.
97-98 precious metals are very different from the bases but 96-97 metal seemed the same just by looking at the scans.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Ooookay. This is the rundown on all things precious metal:

1996-97 Metal Precious Metal have all-silver foil fronts. The base cards have multicolored foil fronts.

1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems come in all-red foil and all-green foil verisons. They are numbered out of 100, and for each player, the first 10 are green and the last 90 are red.

1997-98 Metal Universe Championship Precious Metal Gems are identically colored to the base set but have glowing patterns of overlapping concentric circles on their fronts and are numbered out of 50.

1998-99 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems are gold-colored as opposed to the silver-colored base cards, and serial numbered out of 50.

1998-99 Metal Universe Gem Masters have are silver-colored like the base cards but have glowing patterns of small beads arranged in parallel rows, and are 1 of 1's. You can see one of them in my avatar.

I agree. I have 1/3 of the set of Red ones and 1/6 of the set of Green ones from 97-98.
