That's a good question,The giants have already proved they can win without him.He is one of the best tight ends in the league, but coming off an injury and the fact that Kevin Boss is alot younger I'd say if the giants can turn him into some higher round picks they should do it.On the other hand they could keep him and if the offense seems to be doing better without him then try and trade him.just my thoughts take care Steve

The problem is tight ends now are better than they were ten years ago. Lots of teams have the winlsows, gates, whittens. Why trade for Jeremy shockey when you could get similar performance out of ben watson for half the price.

Just from a Giants/Shockey fan point of view, I'll be ticked if he's let go. Boss has proven to be a good TE that can make plays, no doubt. But to give Shockey the boot after what's happened would just be wrong, esp. considering he's one of the better TE's in the NFL and a great playmaker for NY.

I say trade him. Here is why. When Shockey is playing it seems to me that Eli is trying to force the ball to him to keep him happy. As we all know Shockey gets mad if he doesn't get the ball. When Shockey went down Eli started throwing to the other wideouts and they showed they can produce and make the team more effective in moving the ball. The more options Eli has the more opposing defenses can't focus on one player. I use the addition by subtraction analogy when it comes to Shockey and i agree that Shockey can be a difference maker but seems to hinder Eli more then help him. That's my opinion but could be wrong.

Giants play better without him. His attitude brings negativity on the sideline during games. I've never seen him in the locker room so I have no idea what he's like. Didn't the Giants go on a big winning streak and win the Super Bowl without him? Yep.
