It was only a matter of time. It's not necessarily a bad thing either. During debates on how to stabilize Iraq, many analysts have suggested a "Balkanization" of Iraq - splitting it up into 3-4 ethnocentric states instead of trying to get the Shia, Sunni, Kurds, and the stragglers on board with each other under one state. In this system, there would supposedly be parent states that would serve in an advisory status to the different Iraqi provinces. Turkey had been suggested as the ones to oversee northern Iraq (Kurdistan). Anyway, I have no idea if this would actually work, but I'm up for trying something new!

The entire region has so much built up hate towards each other it's sick. They can't forget that their ancestors shot at someone else's. The hate is deep set and older than our country.
